The Black Diamond Strip Mall project was another defining moment for Twiddy & Strand Construction. Coming off the success of the Snoqualmie Pass Community Center, we once again owned the full structures package — but this time, the scale was bigger, the timeline was tighter, and the visibility was higher.
With a building footprint more than twice the size of Snoqualmie Pass, this project tested our limits as a growing company and became a launchpad for future opportunities, including Alaska commercial builds.

Project Story
By this point, Twiddy & Strand Construction was in the groove with large-scale commercial builds, and the Black Diamond Strip Mall pushed our momentum to new heights. We once again owned the structures package, which included full framing, sheeting, and steel installation — all self-performed by our team.
This project was also highly visible within the community. As we framed the structure, nearby developers, business owners, and trade partners took notice of the speed and quality of our work. These relationships proved invaluable — this single build directly led to referrals, repeat work in the Black Diamond area, and, most importantly, introductions to Alaska-based contractors that opened an entirely new chapter for Twiddy & Strand.
Looking Ahead
The Black Diamond Strip Mall marked a turning point for Twiddy & Strand Construction’s growth.
