Project Story
Building in remote rural Alaska requires flexibility, and the NVU Office Building tested that ability from start to finish. After completing the ANICA Grocery Store in Stebbins, our team mobilized quickly to Unalakleet to assemble a 6,000-square-foot modular structure shipped directly to the site via barge.
Unexpected conditions required us to adapt our workflow on-site — from weather delays to unforeseen technical challenges — while maintaining alignment with NVU’s vision for the new facility. This project deepened our expertise in modular construction and further solidified Twiddy & Strand’s role as a trusted Alaska commercial partner.
Looking Ahead
The NVU Office Building project highlights Twiddy & Strand Construction’s ability to adapt, problem-solve, and execute with precision — even in the most challenging environments. Together with the Stebbins grocery store, it showcases our growing expertise in modular commercial builds and sets the foundation for future opportunities in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.
